Dr Andrew Silumesii
Dr. Andrew Silumesii has wanted to be a doctor since the age of 10. He first obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree with a major in Microbiology before entering into the medical program at the University Teaching Hospital. His internship was done at Kitwe Central Hospital in Copperbelt Province prior to being transferred to Mongu to work at Lewanika General Hospital. After 6 months he was appointed to the position of Executive Director of the 273 bed hospital. His interests are drawn towards trying to gain an understanding of the complex links between health and development in the developing world.
