In October 2010, 15 members of OkaZHI will again travel to Mongu to provide an ambitious program of workshops for the physicians, nurses and ancillary healthcare providers of the Western Province of Zambia. We are in the planning stages with our Zambian colleagues. The Canadian OkaZHI team will be comprised of surgeons, family medicine physicians, anaesthesia and nurses.
It will be a very busy two weeks as CNIS surgical programs in Essential Surgical Skills and Hernia Repair will be offered as well as both Medical & Nursing Periopertive Management courses and an introductory Critical Care Workshop.
Collaborative inter-professional practice will be emphasized.
In conjunction with the OkaZHI Board of Directors, the Fundraising and Finance Committee has commenced the process to obtain Charitable Tax Status with Revenue Canada which will allow us to issue charitable tax receipts for donations received.
